Designed in our island home, Tasmania, our collections combine beautiful materials, thoughtful design and practical details to bring you styles that fit into the natural rhythm of your everyday life.

Our pieces are made to do it all, the coffee dates, long lunches, days in the office, school pickup, travel days. Our pieces are made to be carried often and loved for years to come.

Founder Lara, grew up spending weekends alongside her father Henk, at Salamanca Market, helping craft and sell leather bags under the Henk Berg name. It was here that she learnt the value of crafting quality pieces, looking after customers and building a business with heart.

In 2013, Lara and her husband Bruce took over Henk Berg, continuing the family legacy that shaped much of Lara's childhood.

Lara found her creativity calling for more while on maternity leave. They loved the timeless quality of the traditional leather craftsmanship, but wanted to create a brand with a lighter, more playful feel.

In 2016, Dusky Robin was born. Pieces designed for modern life without compromising on quality.

Like many businesses Dusky started at home. Every order was picked and packed from their backyard while juggling their young family.

Today, the little backyard business has grown into a family run brand found in more than 500 boutiques across Australia/New Zealand.

Every style begins right here in Tasmania, where Bruce develops and perfects each design before it ever goes into production. From the very first sample, every detail is considered.

We thoughtfully select every material, every fitting, always opting for high quality, premium options that keep up with the pace of life.

Our leather is chosen not only for how it feels when it's new, but for how beautifully it wears over time. The more it's carried, the softer and more personal it becomes.
